The Chupacabra strikes again. Obviously this is the work of a mythical goat-vampire pooping in the wild, and not some neighbor too lazy to walk thirty feet to the doggy waste station.

Possible Chupacabra Sighting
Residents of Alamo Ranch Apartments Building 16, please be on the lookout for a Chupacabra. I have not seen the beast itself, but I have, on several occasions, been forced to step over animal droppings at the bottom of the steps to our fair building. Living in such close proximity to the dog waste disposal station - 10 yards away - I can draw only two possible explanations as to why I would find...

Dear Facebook, Your Android App Sucks
A few months ago, I wrote about the craptacularness of my Droid.
Since then, I’ve been doing some research, and I keep coming back to the idea that it is the Facebook app causing my Droid to suck. I tried a lot of different ideas to fix the problem. I did a few system resets, and after one of them, I decided not to update the Facebook app.
Bingo! That was it. Somewhere between the...
The Law of LeBeouf
The Shia LaBeouf Law: If you enjoyed a toy, television show or a movie toward the end of the 20th century, a horrible movie version will be made in the 21st Century, and Shia LaBeouf will be required to appear in it.

I’m very fortunate to have friends in The Arts. Even more fortunately, these friends are actually performing, and frequently. This has left me with an abundance of Facebook invites to a wide variety of plays, art gallery openings, improv showcases and concerts, most of which I am geographically incapable of attending. This gets compounded when several friends are collaborating on a single...
My Droid is Crappy
So my first generation Motorola Droid has been getting progressively worse lately. It’s almost to the point where it is not a functional phone.
The old joke is that the iPhone is a great phone, you just can’t use it as a phone. My Droid makes me wish i had an iPhone.
Leaving an application, it takes 10-45 seconds for the home screen to load. Applications fail on me, constantly....

My Office Makeover (A Work in Progress) →
I’m working from home now, so I felt a bit of rearranging was in order. We’re not done yet. I still need a better mouse (I’m actually thinking of the Apple Magic Trackpad), a laptop stand, a hanger of some sort for my headset and a curtain for the East facing window.
Of course, I could always use another, larger, monitor. A proper KVM switch wouldn’t hurt, either.

Does this make me a jerk?
Weather, work and kiddo have prevented me from cutting my grass for about a week. But the weekend is finally here, and I had plans to mow the grass this evening. However, this afternoon, before I had a chance to do it myself, the neighbor cut my grass for me. Or should I say scalped my grass. He cut it at about 1-1.5 inches (I try to stay around 3-4, it shades itself that way, stays greener,...

So I woke up with the song “Pretty Woman” stuck in my head this morning, and I later made the mistake of trying to make sense of the lyrics. That’s something I’ve never done before. I should have remained in the dark on the lyrics.
As I see it, there are two...
I am a programming watcher, not a TV watcher
I got a packet in the mail yesterday, from the Nielsen Ratings people. The packet contained a brochure, a survey a pre-paid envelope and a website where those of us who had decided to join the latter part of the 20th century could log on and complete the same survey, further decreasing the usefulness of the USPS. Oh yeah, it also had a two dollar bribe to convince me that I should complete the...

– Lifehacker wrote that, in reference to this article on Stepcase Lifehack.
The idea that interruptions are part of my day had never occurred to me. I work in a very streamlined office, so I wear many hats during the day. This means many interruptions. Where I would normally be upset that my workflow...
