Individual interruptions are no more predictable to an office worker than fires are to a fire fighter but they are equally as part of the job and something that it would be foolish to not expect.

The idea that interruptions are part of my day had never occurred to me. I work in a very streamlined office, so I wear many hats during the day. This means many interruptions. Where I would normally be upset that my workflow was temporarily obstructed by an (expected) interruption, I will now try to realize that interruptions happen, and plan accordingly.
What that plan is, I’m not sure yet…
